Anyone interested in getting together in AR this fall? I'm thinking Hot Springs Area. After Troy not getting a refund on his room at the Riders Rest in Eureka Springs last year, I think we should move on down the highway. Those interested give me your thoughts.

Well last year we did it the weekend of Halloween but some said it was a little cool in the mornings. We need to stay away from Sept. 8,9, and 10th because that is the Noreaster rally. I personally liked the cooler mornings after a hot OK. summer, but I am open to other dates.

The AR rally is kick-azz no matter what time of year! I think the move sounds good. It might be time for a change.
I'll just keep an eye on this thread for the dates.

Hot Springs is cool (plus it's only 90 minutes from where I live.) There are some great rides in the area.

I am on vacation the end of sept. Can't do halloween weekend this year. Hot Springs would be a great base camp!

Some nice rides in the Mountain Home and Harrison areas as well as Hot Springs. MH and Harrison are a bit more centrally located for the St. Louis contingent. I am up for wherever. Had sinus surgery after getting sent home with sinus problems last year. Had needed it for years but when in interferes with my riding...

Naturally I'm going to say yes for Hot Springs. Depending on staffing at work, I should be able to go riding with you folks.

Even though I'm from Little Rock, I'm in Hot Springs everyday. Wouldn't be able to spend the night though.

I'm good with both of those, it's actually a few miles less from here than Eureka Springs

I'm going to throw this out there. What if we do Sept. 23,24,25 and 26th? The Triumph truck will be up in El Dorado Springs, Mo. that weekend and for Friday's ride we could go up there ride a few bikes, eat dinner there or turn around and come back. Donny thinks it's about 2 1/2 hours from Eureka Springs. We could do the Mountain Home/Harrison ride on Saturday. Food for thought. This is going back to making E.S.'s the base or maybe Mt. Home. This place looks pretty cool in Mountain Home. It's not as cheap as the Riders Rest at $49, more like $77 but the cabins could fit more people. http://www.tealpointresort.com/

I just called them and they have plenty of cabins available
that weekend. Give me some feed back you biker maniacs.

I had the truck at El Dorado Springs the weekend before that but can't find anything to back up the dates I had put in my calendar. Might check "The Hub" at Harrison. Motorcycle resort type of place. I have never been there but I believe Dan has been to a RAT event there.

Yeah that was the original date and then Donny said they changed it. Did you call the dealership yet to verify the dates Donny?

This place in Harrison looks like it has a restaraunt on site. http://www.hubinfo.com/Motel.html

I like the idea of riding some new Trumps in ElDorado Springs....I hear they are a great dealership, like the BMW guys in Bella Vist, they truly appreciate the ride...as far as the Hub and Harrison , yes, it is nice and they would probably let us have a bonfire....and they do have a pretty fair restaurante' there too...the Rat Raid there this year was fun....I'm good for where-ever, even ElDorado Springs if that be the case.....

FWIW, when I went to the Triumph Demo day here, they said Friday was the better day to do it, Saturday is always really crowded.

It is nice. I lived there for 15 years but has been a while since I spent any time riding roads around there. Lots of twisties but not sure about pavement conditions. I hate rough pavement in twisty turns!

I think there are some rides we could do out of ES that we have not done in the last few years. Will try to do some scouting in the next couple of months. Or we could ride some we have already done... no bad rides in that group anyway. I like the group ride to El Dorado Springs. Not curvy roads but nice secondary roads to ride up there.
And I agree with Dave, Friday would be best to do that.

Just checked. Bikes, Blues and BBQ is the next weekend (28 Sept thru 1 Oct). Sure don't want to be trying to ride these roads like Triumph riders in that madhouse. I think it is a shame to putter along at 40 mph on AR 21 and 23, etc. But that is what we would be caught up in.

How many hours/miles make a good days ride in the hills? A mapquest trip from ES to Mountain Home (the back way through Buffalo River country and along Push Mountain Road) would be about 6.5 hours and 240 miles round trip. This would get us into MH for a late lunch (not many other places to have a sit down meal along the route). Is this too much to allow photo ops, etc., and a resonable pace?
Push Mountain is probably the best known bike road in the MH area and Hwy 14 through Buffalo River Valley is a nice ride as well.

Can I throw this in. I go to a ralley at Eureka Springs every year (Motor Guzzi) but we stay at the KOA it's about 3 miles west of E.S. and they have sleeping cabins and camping with fire rings. our rates or really good.
Good place to eat and buy gas and cold drinks 1/4 mile away.Rudy

Well Paul, I could just wait till Friday and meet you all at the Triumph Dealer. I live like 25 minutes from there, I bought my bike there... Nothing like having something close to home. Its actually quite a ride from Arkansas.

But so far I am in on the dates your picking, just give me some positives and I will turn it in to work.

We could all meet in El Dorado Springs. There area couple of mom and pop type hotels there for those who want to spend Thursday night there. Would shorten the Friday ride or we could go on to Harrison for Friday and Saturday nights. That would make the Saturday ride a bit shorter. Just throwin out ideas and waiting to see what sticks...

It would be a logistical nightmare but man it sounds like a great time!
