With this sytem I would think that the clearance would actually decrease due to the minimal wear on the shim and cam lobe. Valve in bedding into seat would allow valve stem to get closer thus decreasing the clearance. Must have been a friday arvo or a bad monday morning when they done the initial set up. Could have been worse I guess if set too tight. Anyone else found them all over the max?
It has been my experience that the clearances do become tighter with wear/mileage. Don't forget to check for wear at the cam "saddle" ("bearing")area of the head as well because it can make setting clearances a frustrating experience when this area wears significantly!
