Please let me know if this is the right category. Is anyone running any style of backpack on their sissy bar that they remove and can carry backpack style? I was just going to strap one of my old ones on but wondered if there were ones made to fasten to the sissy bar but removable to carry once at destination.

I use the Kuyakyn Ultra Tour Bag and it works very well for me. I have it facing forward as I do not have the shelf on my sissy bar. It actually gives me something to lean against on long hauls. I use it for the NorEast Rally and I am able to pack for 3 or 4 days with ease. The first time I put it on it took me about 20minutes to figure out the best way to attach it but now I can take it off and put it back on in about 5 minutes. Hope this helps.

There is one that is made by HD, I imagine there are other versions too. It has a pocket on the outside that fits over the top of the sissy bar. backpack

This is just the first one I found.

Watcha think of this set up? Velcro straps to the bar and can be carried away with built in handles... like luggage!

But can it be worn as a backpack?

Well no, but Paul went on to say and I quote... "wondered if there were ones made to fasten to the sissy bar but removable to carry once at destination."

It's a good setup... modular too so you can break it down for all the good reasons.

It's a little pricey but I used my new (to me) Biker's Friend bag last weekend and it works well. Has a handle and/or a shoulder strap for carrying.

Saddlemen make one. I have had one for about a year- Good quality and reasonably priced-comes with waterproof cover. Easy to remove and adjustable sissy bar mount-also has abilty to expand out for extra gear if required-cost me about 120 dollars but was on special and well worth it

Wow...nice set ups!! But i'm just looking for something I can slide over the backrest...and then slip off and take with me to different events...not necessarily for weekend trips as of yet. I have my old Monster Kawasaki backpack I take everywhere but don't think it'll go good on my Triumph

Tourmaster makes several sizes of slip over bags for the sissy bar.

Go to a flea market and get one of those bags that slips over the pull out handle on roll-able luggage. Might even find one that comes with a shoulder strap. Usually around 5 to 10 bucks. This will slide over your backrest and you can take it with you to different events...

I have been using this one for a few years now. More than happy with it! The ad says to use with a luggage rack. I never have. Its a well made, durable product with a horrible brand name. Haha!

Rob,
That looks like what I am looking for, but wow are they expensive!!

Moe,
Not a bad idea at all!! Might have to look around at that as well. Maybe if I can find something cheap for just here and there and then pick up one of those T-Bags for xmas or something

I have the same bag from Tbag. I think its called the Vegas. Pricy but will be the last one you buy!

I have the short backrest and luggage rack, and it works like a charm.

This is in no way an endorsement, but http://motorcycle-luggage.com/ seems to have some decent prices (not on that Baja Tbag but on other things).
