My small filters can have something up to 1 3/4" without having interference from the bowl holding bracket, 2 3/4" on the large ones.
BUT...
I've "bent" emblems 1 5/8" with no problems. (the H/D bar & shield, the "Triumph" logo)
I've "tried" to bend one that was only 1 1/4" wide (a Confederate Flag), and the paint cracked all to he11, and chipped off.
I bent a "Shovehead" emblem (only 1" wide) that went fine, yet another one broke in half!
More luck then science!
Go figure!
Ps. The "Shot Glasses" don't present these problems.
