Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone knows of a good way to salvage the stock grips on my America when I change the bars. They seem to be on there pretty good. It's raining today and I thought it might be fun to try out the buckhorns that have been sitting in my garage. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Take the end plates off, 3mm Allen if memory serves. Slip a small flat blade under the left grip and shoot some WD-40 in there and twist it off. The throttle grip will slide off along with the throttle housing. If you cover the tank with a blanket you can pull the left grip, remove the riser caps and then slip the throttle off as you move the bars to the left so you won't have muck with the throttle cables. No blanket and you're almost guaranteed to scar the tank...

The throttle grip just comes right off after taking that side apart.

The port-side grip will go back on really nice with a shot of hairspray, & will set-up solid once it drys. Just don't tell my wife...
