I didn't know there was any other way. Neutral then turn off the key. Ya see they put the key on the left side for a reason. So you would be in neutral first before turning it off. Can't let go of the clutch otherwise. Kick it down into gear if on a steep hill. It also makes sure you don't forget your key.
Just teasing but it does kinda make sense.
