I wouldn't think there's any major difference in the fitting from my long cannons to your slash cuts and my pipes lay in a straight line. It did take some wiggling to get them to run straight from front to rear without undue splaying. I loosened the entire pipe run starting at the heads and set my header to silencer joint first and then tightened the front and rear a little at a time until I felt the run had good symmetry.
