Replaced my Epcos with a set of SS long slashes because, well I just can't leave well enough alone. No issues with the Epcos...really liked 'em...just like tinkering. Anyway get the SSs on easy enough (and they sound right nice BTW), but when I look at the header/pipe line there seems to be a bit of a 'bend' or 'peak' where the pipes slip onto the header, like maybe the header is pointing slightly up at that point or the hangers push the back of the pipes down a bit. Anyone else ever see this and more importantly is there an adjustment that can be made to smooth this out?

I wouldn't think there's any major difference in the fitting from my long cannons to your slash cuts and my pipes lay in a straight line. It did take some wiggling to get them to run straight from front to rear without undue splaying. I loosened the entire pipe run starting at the heads and set my header to silencer joint first and then tightened the front and rear a little at a time until I felt the run had good symmetry.

There is a slight difference between my bike and karens bike in regards to header position at the slip on point.
Best way to get a new pipe on is to mount teh hanger but leave it loose, slip the pipe on and alight (I aligned the pipe tips and distance from the bike to the pipe), tighten hanger to pipe, check alignment, tighten hanger to bike, check alignment then finally tighten pipe clamp (you did put those on before all that right!

Thanks for the input boys. Sounds like there are loosening/tightening options from front to back that can probably solve this. And yes...somehow I did manage to remember the pipe clamps!

I did the same thing Ed did with his. I loosened all fittings and lined them up measuring equal distance at rear edge from the rear wheel. Tightened it all up when it looked right and even. There is a fair amount of play between all the fittings. The dealer originally mounted my pipes and I immediately noticed one side was about an inch further out than the other. Readjusting fixed that.

Hmmm... just mentioning here that I had the same issue when mounting up my SS pipes. I went from Epcos too. Man, I love the new sound, right! Anyhow, there is that uneveness like you described. I'm glad you mentioned it and I'll give it another shot too.

Mine mounted really nice and straight with the headers. In my case I left the hangers loose on the pipes then tightened them after the pipes were hung. If I did it 'right' it was a fluke but they look about right.

Since fitment questions have been raised, I'll pose a question. Mine bolted up pretty well. My only issue is that my slashes point down slightly and it bugs me a bit. The pipes I replaced (Thunderbike) pointed out like I would expect.

Ok, wiggled, stretched, pushed & tapped from every angle with the headers loose and the headers tight and i still can't get them there pipes to have a smooth joint with the SS silencers. Enuff is enuff. No one will notice but me, BUT I NOTICE. Dang it. Just seems that after the bottom bend in the headers they just turn up and the SS's are just to fat too deal with it. What the heck. Time to ride.
