Not too long ago I took my bike into an autobody shop to have my tank de-scratched and polished. It cost $30 to have the bike masked and covered (so the polishing compound didn't fly into every crevice), scratches sanded and finally a good and proper polishing of the tank and side cover with a high end pneumatic polisher. It took the guy maybe... 20 minutes.

I was AMAZED. While there, he showed me a car headlight assembly (lamp, lens and outer plastic cover) he restored with the same polishing compound and tool. The outer cover had completely lost it's luster, had turned yellow and was no longer clear. After 5 minutes with his polishing kit it looked BRAND NEW!

So I asked him... "hey, do you think that'll work on my windshield?" to which he relied... "yeah, I don't see why not." I will take it to him after this year's riding season and if it's anything like that fancy headlight assembly he showed me, my screen will look BRAND NEW for about $15.

Ya never know, but it sounds like there's a way to renew our windscreens for not much money.
