Did 120 miles yesterday. Seems like a different bike - no stalls - bike performed perfectly. Now I'm really enjoying the experience. Guess it was the Datatool alarm/immobiliser after all.
Alan
Ya see, it's just like I said above about Richard's diagnosis would probably turn out to be right!
Oh, wait a minute...I THOUGHT that's what Richard said it was gonna turn out to be, but then he said I misread his post and said it was probably the stator or somethin'...and so I suppose he was wrong then, huh?!
(...sorry Richard, I couldn't resist that one!)
Glad to hear your problem appears to have been fixed, Alan.

The wiring diagram for these alarms could make Superman whimper like a little school girl. Then you figure in the OK as compared to Prince Lucas and his cotton coated nightmares but not exactly award winning modern factory wire harness and subsequent light duty wire gauges...
Just as well without - no one heeds an alarm except the vehicle's owner.

Much like our homepage, you really have to be careful what kind of crap you add to things...

Good to hear your problem is resolved and the bike is going well.

Well I was going to say that the 'stalling when decellerating' (no load) indicated something more, or at least a very sad battery... but then I realised that when it comes to exchanging banter with Dwight 'resistance is futile'. (A little electrical pun there)

(...yep Rich...one might say I'm kinda "wired" that way, alright!)

Who needs an alarm? Just put a plaque on the dash that says, "These bikes don't hold their value. Go steal a Harley instead."
