Home safe and sound. A bit windy on the ride but no biggy,

This was the best ever!
Got to meet a lot of people and put faces to the names. Got to see some good friends that I haven't seen in a while.

Just got here, so pictures to follow, though I didn't take very many I know a lot were taken.

Oh Dwight, per our discussion the other night: My tach reads about 6500 at 100 mph indicated.

I also made it home. Thank you Dwight and Judie for hosting this years mob - as a mob it was! It was so great that we had sooo many show up from the four corners of the continent!! And surprise attendees! It was wonderful to see old friends and get to meet some that I had only come to know on the Board.
I took a few pics and may have gotten a little video before the battery died in the GoPro. Will try to get some posted this week.

Lounging in Bountiful, UT. Got a late start jawing with odatbob and saying goodbye to everyone. Ran the cage about 617 miles today. I think I passed Eddy at a gas stop somewhere north of Kanab.

Mert and Mark are in Pueblo, so they really poured on the miles, somewhere between 679-752, depending on the route they took. Didn't get many details via text.

BTW, I'm the oddball who was riding this thing:

Bob (Habuba) and I also just returned home. Spent the night at Edwards AFB, and visited our son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters. Had a wonderful visit. Enjoyed the whole weekend, awesome time. Will post pics soon, and some video too.

Nina and I completed our westward swing today and have started back east. The PCH was awesome from Monterey to San Francisco. Taking a route further north going home. Will keep posting progress and photos to facebook and my spot map. Really enjoyed meeting new folks and seeing old friends.

Um, oh yeah, I'm home too.

I had a great time (Thank you Dwight and Judy)and will post pics when I get home. I'm in Newport Beach tonight and will meet up with Z in the morning in San Pedro and then we head up the PCH back to the NW.

Great to meet all of you at Dwight and Judy's place on Friday. Sorry I couldn't do the ride, but I absolutely HAD to be back in Denver on Sunday, so I left 6am from Prescott to Ouray, Colorado... just under 600 miles. Tried to stay off the interstates, went through Strawberry, Pine, Payson, and Heber to Holbrook (plus a quick detour through the Petrified Forest Nation Park). Had to jump on that dreaded I-40 for awhile, but jumped off on to US 191 to Ganado and then 264 to Window Rock. While topping off, I was talking to a local who recommended taking BA 12 to Tsaile and then BA 13 over the Chuska Mountains... WOW! What a nice, twisty, red rock road that was... absolutely gorgeous! The view from the top of Shiprock and the Farmington Valley is pretty nice, as well.



I rolled into Durango around 5pm and was a bit groggy... totally planned to hunt down a room. But, after a sandwich, I felt revived, so decided to head to Montrose over 550 ("The Million Dollar Highway"). Talk about eye candy... there's SO much snow in the mountains it felt like I was in the Swiss Alps.



By the time I got to Ouray, I was definitely shot for the night... not a bad place to grab some rack time.


I left Ouray at a leisurely 9am and took US 50 east through Gunnison and over Monarch Pass to Buena Vista and Leadville. Then, back down I-70 east into Denver. While gassing up in Gunnison, a local rolled in on a '67 Scrambler...




Again... great to meet everyone and I hope to make it again next year. I'll make sure to leave time for the ride next time, too!

I've been enjoying everyone's pictures! One of these years, I'm actually going to make it out there.

Made it in to Montrose at 10:30pm last night, probably the worst day I've had on the bike what with the winds and sandstorms . Everything full of grit, no real chance to relax, even when stopped for gas. But the pleasure was worth the pain, really enjoyed meeting all the new attendees, Seeing old friends.(By the way there Mr. cci, Did I mention I hate you? )

So, last Friday. I flew over n. az?Does that count for anything??

Btw folks, just a quick note here that I'd like to say it was a pleasure for Judie and I to host this year's SWTF rally again, and especially how impressed I was that so many folks and from so far away in many cases had decided to join in this year's shindig...therefore making THIS year's SWTF the great success it seemed to be!!!

Yep, it sure was great to finally meet so many folks in person who I've only just had the pleasure to get to know over this here computer all these years, NOT to mention all my old friends who've made attending this rally an annual occurrence!

I don't think she'll mind me saying, but mert's home. I'm assuming Mark is as well. Man they can pack on some miles.

I just have to say, over 3000 miles in less than 4 days? With minor issues technical and legal? Well done, ma'am.

Hey Mert... glad to make your acquaintance and hope to ride with you when I point my bike east... sometime soon, the date keeps moving around!

Stephen and I just made it home about an hour ago. We spent a day goofing off in Co. Took in Aspen and went over Independence pass. 3320 miles in 13 days.

Thanks Judie and Dwight for being such great hosts! It was really cool to meet you both.

And thanks Chy, Mike, Greg and Jim for putting up with me and Stephen some of the way to Prescott.

It was great to put some faces with the site names and hang out with a bunch of great folks.

No...we decided the trek to Craig and Steamboat Springs then on to Rocky Mtn. National Park was just too much for our tired butts.

3450+ in 13 days for me..stayed in Scottsdale with friends sunday thru wednesday and left wednesday morning..Up Hwy 93 to spend wednesday nite at Caliente,Neveda,thursday evening at Boise,Idaho and home last nite.Glad to be home and had a great time..Rocket averaged over 40 mpg the whole trip!

Still not home! Should make it there today took some vid and pictures, not has good as Narsico's but better than a stick in the eye. Did snow, cold and rain in the mountains read 112 on the thermometer across teh desert, fabulous scenary absolutely grand.

This is the first time I have had a change to get on the computer, made it home yesterday afternoon, the 10th. I got caught in 8 hours of rain on Thursday which put me a day behind. 4,660 miles and only one day of rain. I suppose I can't complain. My back tire is toast, the cords are showing through.
I, too, would like to thank Dwight and Judy for their hospitality and willingness to open up their home to a bunch of bikers! This truly was a national gathering of Triumphs, I am glad to have been a part of it. Also, on a personal note, I would like to say thank you to Todd and Fast Eddy for being my companions on this long journey. To Dave (Narcisco Lopez), Thank you for being our guide through the beautiful Rockies from Denver down to Prescott.At 62 I don't know if I can handle a long trip like this again but this is one I can check off my own bucket list with great satisfaction.
