I bought a used 02' america. It has floor boards and a heel toe shifter. I've tried everything to get the toe lever high enough to slip my boot/shoe under. I haven't much room on the floor boards for my foot to fit without hitting the rear lever or toe lever. had the bike out once and didn't like the shifting with heel to toe. my foot felt out of place. I only had drove it in my neighborhood, not too much traffic.
It can't be done. At it's highest point before the shift rod falls out of the connector, the heel lever bottoms out on a rod. (rear lever has a slot in it and it stops on a bar. even if I get the toe lever that high and wedge my shoe under, you cannot up shift because the rear lever is too low at the rear and bottoms out.
I spoke to a triumph service manager and he agreed that it's very tricky for people with size 11's and shoes with a high toe area. I asked him about the stock shifter pedal and he said he was certain that the stock pedal will not work with floor boards. All items are triumph parts.
anyone have experience with this type of problem. stock shifter doesn't work with floor boards?? appreciate any ideas on this one, Thanks guys.
