Guys thanks for some of those tips. In the end, all that I used apart from the clothing & toiletries I packed was my chain lube and drinking water. But I bet Murphy's Law would have meant that if I didn't have something I would have ended up needing it.
We ended up doing a slightly different route and stayed in the Denman Pub NW of the Hunter Valley. My America ended up averaging 57.74 mpg (UK) on the trip and this is the first bike I have never had a sore or numb bum on. Not a single bug made it past my screen onto my helmet visor and the bike never missed a beat the whole trip. I'm wrapped and it certainly had some other riders in out little troupe of 7 paying more attention to this model.
