Hi all, I know this is going to be a bit of a surprise and I'd prefer I didn't have to say it, but after talking to numerous people and chatting on here, I've decided for various reason it's not in my best interests to go ahead with the power mods. First off, I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed to my questions. I understand you may be thinking this blokes a bit of a "gunna" (gunna do this and gunna do that) but without wanting to go into it too deeply, for me the benefits just didn't outweigh the costs imho. This is not about affordability either but behind the scenes I've been doing the pros and cons thing with some mates who have been down this track themselves, so I guess you know which side of the ledger had more ticks than crosses. What I'd prefer to do though is not discuss in depth my conclusions. I have my reasons but one thing I can say is this, I'm still very happy with my bike and will be keeping him for some time yet. So again, for those (you know who you are) who have given me encouragement and advice on certain facets, I'd like to thank you very much for all the time you've spent. I appreciate that very much. cheers stacka

Have you been talking to Frank? Not another dark side convert I hope. Did they make you sign a secret oath not to say anything!?!

As a matter of fact yes, I have been talking to Frank but not about this. I've just been waiting for the right time to share the news after flying back from Townsville to see my Son. So NO, I don't plan to buy a Harley. My missus wouldn't let me even if I wanted one truth be told. So stop ya that Tom Foolery now ya hear?

Colin, you old codger you. Do you live on the coast perhaps, cos the bait your using isn't making me bight. Good try though. What bait do you use btw? It may explain why you were never very good at fishing. Why don't you try something else on that hook of yours and we'll see if it lures me onto that hot buttery pan of yours.

my thought exactly. that 98 or 104 inch (your choice)parallel twin is quite seductive.

You guys are just bad "B.A.D. Ok, that luscious wriggly worm is tempting me so I'm going in for a closer look (at the worm that is) but truth be told, I'm keeping my options open. The thing is, I can retire in less than 3 yrs with a good pension at 55. i can also elect to keep working as well as receive the pension so if ever a T-Bird was on the cards, that would be my preferred option at this stage. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself either so it's just options at the moment. Also, whilst on the surface the birds have an appeal I'd like to see if there's some improvements in that time. Early days in other words but regardless, I'm still really enjoying my Speedie and will see what transpires down the track. Like a lot of riders on here, this subject is a curly one but me being me I know I'm not in a position to have a stable of steeds. So I felt I would have been reducing my options in other words if i I went ahead and spent thousands in power mods. It also doesn't mean I wouldn't have loved to go down that road as was my original intention. So I'm sure many will understand my quandrary if they were in a similar situation. One thing's for sure, I do need time to debate this one just by myself cos my Speedie means everything to me so who knows. I'm definitely not going to lose sleep about it that's for sure but riding a Ferdie and conjuring up my next changes will continue to be one on my most favorite pastimes.
