ok i'll bite....
if we are talking about the 4 wheen variety:
55-56 i like. nice fin
57 the best year little larger fin.
58-60 bigger 4 seats fin but kinda ugly
61-63 fin going away
64- on no fin

sooooo to fin or not to fin. i would say fin but early fin.

My favorite was always the '61-'63 models. Those babies just screamed "The Jet Age has arrived". And, the interiors were really cool on those especially.

However, you might have missed my little "joke" there. The reason I brought this whole "fin" thing up was 'cause I used to quite often around here take issue with what I thought was the somewhat bland design aesthetics of the new Triumph Thunderbird's cylinder barrels, and that they were/are a little too slab-sided, and that they could've used a little more fins around 'em to break that up a bit, and also give it more of an "Old School" air-cooled look, which if Bloor's Boys' stated mission for this bike was to attempt to steal some sales away from H-D, they should have made it as "Old School" looking as possible in order to entice just those kinds of potential customers over to Triumph, and of which I thought those fins might've helped in this regard, also.

(...but, as I said, this is an old issue and one of which most folks who were around here at BA.com when the new T-Birds hit the market were probably thinkin' has been put to rest by now)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
