Here's the deal.... whether or not a Triumph motorcycle was assembled in England or Thailand does not matter. They are all Hinckley designed and engineered and the quality control is exactly the same as well. It's not like bikes assembled in Thailand are Chinesse knock-offs of the original. They are hard working people that take pride in what they do.

Thanks for saying this, although it's also fair to say that the Chinese-assembled Piaggio scooters use parts manufactured in Italy.

I just don't want any Chinese crawfish, drywall or baby toys in the house.

And in the sixties Vespa had a plant in England.

According to a Triumph tech on another forum Chrome improved when Triumph moved it all to Thailand and in 07 when all the Bonnie variants began assembly in Thailand customer complaints went way down.

Yeah Mac, I've heard that too! Yep, word is because of environmental restraints in jolly ol' Blighty, the chromium manufacturing processes there are inferior to those in less regulated Thailand.

BUT(and you HAD to know THIS was comin'), once again "word is" the last batch of little Thai babies that were born around all the Chromium factories there were born with little flippers instead of little hands and feet!!!!

(...btw, if you're wonderin', no, I haven't started drinking this morning yet...all this kinda weird-a$$ stuff just kinda flows naturally out of this noggin of mine!!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
