I thought this topic might get lost in the Other Bikes forum...anyone here know of a site that has pictures or line drawings showing where the decals are placed on a Meriden Triumph? Soren? Dwight? Ian? Bueller? Anyone?

No idea. Probably the best thing to do is to do a google image search on the year and model of the bike and look closely at the pictures.

Darn good question here, Ed. Are you talkin' about the placement of decals like the "Made in England" and the "Minimum Oil Level" on the side covers, and such?

Well, other than Soren's idea, there's a fellas in Texas who goes by "GrandPaulZ"(I think it's the same guy who is a regular on the cycleworld.com forums) who according to this link on the Triumphrat.net forum appears to know a little somethin' about this...though in the case of this link, he answers a question posed to him about a '68 Bonnie's decal placement....

(...maybe there's a way you could contact him about this, if say nobody around here can give ya a definitive answer about this?!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I second what Dwight said (wrote). This guy Paul Zuniga has a website and an interesting business. You can contact him through: http://www.bornagainbikes.net/

Hope this helps!

I've bought some stuff from Paul Z; great guy and very accessible but busy running that Delphi Triumph forum along with moderating the vintage group at rat.net. My favorite reply (from across the pond) over at the rat.net was this:

"It would appear that they were applied by the guys in the factory in a pretty hap hazard fashion, so seem to vary a lot. Good luck!"

I'm guessing that your bike only has about 5 decals, headlight switch, Made in England on the frame, + ground under the seat and Trophy / side covers.

Keep us advised. Oh! and more pics as I'm addicted to Brit Iron porn.

This guy might be able to help too. Ask for Don. Very high quality restorations.

Two decals here, three on the oil tank, positive earth decal under the seat, Trophy Sports on the side cover. I got those...but where to put the valve clearance decal and the points instructions? Questions, questions...

The really nice script "Made in England" on the down-tube appears years later.

Don Hutchinson is a legend is Triumph restorations, much like Baxters in Iowa.
