We had this discussion with our beloved TBA and TBS's a little while ago. It would appear most are assembled there but the parts are made and "quality checked" at hinkley. If that makes you feel better. I had a SPIII and it was wicked fast and a ton of fun in the twisties. Honda and yamaha are made in Japan and that was once considered junk. and I'd be hard pressed to beat an R1 with my triple. It's a global market.
