Probably not going to help you Ray, but Hawes is in Wensleydale and Tan Hill is in Arkengarthdale. When I lived in North Stainley, used to go Masham, stop off at the pub next to the Theakstones Brewery, refuel, up to Leyburn over Redmire Moor to Reeth up the Arkengarthdale Road to Tan Hill, some where near the pub, there used to be a little humpy back on the road, that if you hit it fast enough, could get plenty of air and loads of hang time .
