We quickly jump all over this idiots prediction, but we forget many others. In the 70's we were going to be deep into an ice age by now. In 1989 climatologists claimed that by 2010 Galveston and Houston would be underwater. In the early 80s they made the claim that in 10 years we would not be able to go out side because the radiation from the sun. (that would have happened in the 90's) None of this stuff happened.
Now granted this preacher guy is a sociopathic nut job, but what about these so called scientists. They missed their dooms day predictions.
I guess climate science is not an exact science. Maybe its a religion too.

Oh really, none of their little predictions happened. Thats for sure. I am in Houston right now standing on ground. The coast is still some 40 miles away. according to those fanatics my house would be beach front property, but I still have over 70 mile to get to the beach. In fact I can go eat at a little place that was built in the 40s on the beach.... its still on the beach. The pictures look exactly the same (as far as the waterline relationship to the dock goes). Sounds to me as though they are just as goofy and nutty as our little pastor friend.

If you can't see the vastly significant difference between Rev. Camp's prediction and erroneous conclusions drawn on early environmental scientists that have been thoroughly refuted with more accurate data I can't have a rational discussion with you. And we're already dancing on the AUP line.

I know we are dangerously close to the AUP lines. Our Rev. has moved his date now and so has the other fellows. Its always 10 years away. When I graduated in 1991. They predicted that in the 2000s NewYork city would be under water along with many coastal cities. Then 6 years ago, again with the same thing. Still now that the ten years are nearly up and there has been no real change in the coastline we got 10 more years.

Sounds like sour grapes Chad

Not that I blame ya. Beach property would be nice

Right I wanted beach front property, and to float around the streets of Houston in a boat like those guys in Venice.

By he way John, I do admit the comparison is a bit convoluted. The epitome of a hyperbole if you will.

Well, here's the latest, folks.

Good Ol' Reverend Camp NOW says that he was off by 5 months, and NOW says it's all gonna come to an end on October 21st of this year.

And on this same report I just saw, they mentioned how some of the folks who regularly listen to Rev. Camp on their radio and who gave their retirement funds and other worldly possessions to help the Reverend get his message out seem to be quite upset with him right now.

Boy do I feel sorry for those folks.

(...NOT!!!)

According to this BBC report, he had previously predicted the end of the world was going to happen in 1994!! Perhaps he is hoping for third time lucky

Locopony, speaking of predictions. I remember watching the news in 1975 about the killer bees that would swarm America by 1985. As an impressionable 11 year old, that scared me to death.

Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

Well, I guess I'll go hop in my personal autogyro like everyone else and fly it to work. Oh yeah, that prediction didn't happen. No flying car with folding wings in the garage either.

Well, here's one you can count on. everyone should buy a new refrigerator 'cause, if the government keeps it up, we'll need the boxes to live in.

Naaaah, not necessarily, GB!

It appears SOME folks with a little "entrepreneurial spirit" in 'em can plan ahead and avoid just this sorta thing....

As old as the reverend is, perhaps his world WILL end by October 21st...

Why did it take four days to figure out he had the "math" wrong? Didn't he double check his "math" to begin with? Like my own math (the real kind) teacher used to tell us, "No credit unless you show your work."

Oh, well, you can bet Flipper isn't gonna be "left behind", Louis.

(...not after all the do-gooding he did all those years with that Ranger and his two boys in Florida, and before he retired to that little island of his off the Bahamas where he's presently living out his Golden Years!!!)

There's a rumour that an exclusive Japanese restaurant paid mega-bucks to have Flipper on their menu.
