Yup Kris... it happens on our tanks. Not to worry though... just try to keep it clean by removing the flaky stuff with your fingers. The rest will be caught by the mesh filter within the tank at the petcock. Even then the 'hidden' filter will catch it. And while on the topic of filters... a lot of us here including me, have removed the hidden filter and added an inline filter between the petcock and carbs. If a bit of that flaked off stuff breaks loose, at least it can't get through to the carbs.
