Well first Brin, I'd like to say thanks for that excursion through my ol' stompin' grounds there. The camera seems to work very nicely, too. And secondly here I'd like to say... IF YOU KEEP RIDIN' LIKE THAT IN SOCAL, AND ESPECIALLY ON THE 405 LIKE THAT, YOU, YOUNG MAN, ARE NOT GONNA COME CLOSE TO SURVIVIN' LIKE I DID ALL THOSE 40-PLUS YEARS OF RIDIN' MOTORCYCLES ON THE STREETS AND FREEWAYS OF THE GREATER LOS ANGELES METROPOLITAN AREA, AND YOU WON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO GETTIN' TO THE AGE WHERE YOU CAN MOVE OUT OF THAT AREA AND RETIRE TO SOME QUIETER LITTLE TOWN LIKE PRESCOTT ARIZONA!!!!!! Okay, and now that I'm a little more calm here...here's ya a few suggestions in order to attempt to make it to my age of, at present, 59: First: NEVER cut across that double/double line which separates the Diamond Lane from Lane#1(the so called "Fast Lane")like you kept doin' in that video. Secondly: NEVER split traffic like you did AT THAT SPEED in that video when The 405, or ANY freeway for that matter, has as little of traffic as The 405 did there! And besides, you should've just been HAPPY that The friggin' 405 was as light in traffic as it WAS there! 'Cause, as I'm sure you know, THAT was a RARE OCCURRENCE!!! Now, if you might need any OTHER suggestions as to how to stay alive on those streets of L.A., PLEASE feel free to ask me! (...just tryin' to give you the benefit of my many many years of experience ridin', AND SURVIVIN', out there in the "City of Angels", kid!...I DON'T wanna see YOU end up bein' "an angel" way before it's your time, ya see!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Just curious as we don't have car pool lanes, aren't you allowed to go in and out off that lane then?

As much as I hate to agree with Dwight, I was thinkin' the same thing. Although, I wouldn't have gone into such detail. More like: If you keep riding that that, you're gonna get some spectacular crash footage. One more thing, wear some gear. Uncle Charlie

Only at certain points along the freeway where those double/double yellow lines change to one single broken white line, Bryn.
In fact, I can't tell you how many times accidents happen when Lanes 1-4 are bumper to bumper with traffic, and some moron decides they're going to cross into the faster flowing Diamond Lane where they shouldn't be crossing over those double/double line, and BAM, somebody coming up in the Diamond Lane gets WACKED. And, of course it's REALLY bad when the car that crosses over at the wrong place hits a harder to spot(as we all know) motorcyclist coming up in the Diamond Lane.

So then THAT explains the sour disposition here, EH?! (...okay then, excuse accepted...I know back when I worked for a living and before I retired and became the "Man of Leisure" you know me as today, those days would sure roll around a lot for me TOO!!!)

Hey Brin! Tank looks good. What did you have to go through to make it work. I'm assuming some modifying was needed to fit the America frame.

cut the little tabs on the frame a bit. cut off the tabs on the tank where it attaches and drill a new hole.

the seagull is now the eagle maniac. finally finished my winter project. did the 994 big bore from tpusa. it was my first time rebuilding a motor and i'm very happy i did. took it all apart to the last bolt. replaced the main bearings, carillo rods, 994 jugs, pistons/rings, head work, fcr's. cases painted gloss black and covers powder coated gloss black. it feels like a wild beast and sounds like an angry buffalo. i have not yet received my remapped ignitor but when i do i'll get it on the dyno and report results. it already feels like night and day difference in power since i was coming from a 790. i also made a kind of tutorial video on putting it all back together to give back to the site. i'll post that when i'm done editing it. rock on friar john!!

Hey, love the bike. I noticed on your stone guard it looks like you got those stupid clips to actually work. Any details on that?

yeah the clips worked pretty easily. you basically just have to re-bend a couple angles on it with some pliers. they'll stay by the pressure of the the headlight but i put a little jb weld on the ends to really hold them in place.
