Hey Brin usually "newbs" have fairly standard lookin bikes when they pipe in but I gotta say you have done some mighty fine customizing to that there sled. Impressive. Hey hang on a minute...is that a do-rag you got on?? I see it reflecting off your toaster.

Have you considered any negative affects to installing the battery in the lying down position. I always thought they should be UPRIGHT

Newb.
LOL so he did. I don't know where I got that from but it does explain why his bike looks so well customized. ( thinks I might need to get glasses )

No, that's not what explains why the bike is so nice. Not much of it is really "new" ('cept maybe that battery mount) but his particular taste in combining various elements is what makes it nice. Super duper nice.

thanks guys. with out seeing pics of certain elements of others bikes on here, i wouldn't have been able to picture how certain things would look together. john, i'll submit the bike to you by the end of the month hopefully. there's a couple drastic changes i'm planning on first. if everyone's gonna see it i want it to be seen right.

Looks good as is! The worn out bags add a nice touch to the old school look.

The bags! Those saggyassed bags!!! I've been looking for bags like those for ages. I've looked at everything from new to yard sales - Where did they come from? The back rest is interesting too. I'd love to know where you got the metal stock and a drawing or sketch with dimensions. Yes, the bags and backrest - that's what makes her so sweet. I, too, rarely comment on others bikes - but she's a honey. Those bags. That backrest. Geeeeeze! Ah, did I mention that I'm just a little blown away by those bags and backrest.

I have old back rest very close to that one ..in fact it's off a old triumph trident t160 looks just like that one in the pic but he has reworked that one.. on his bike ..
but any way you can have it..I will bring it with me to the NorEast Rally..

i guess i just kinda lucky on that stuff. i found the bags used at a used parts shop along with the backrest on the same day. the bags used to be quite a bit longer and lower but i cut them down the middle then stitched it with some leather lace. the back rest matches up perfect with the back two holes on the fender brace but does need some spacers and a little love to make it work. i also have some bag braces behind there that you can't see. the bags just clear the rear sprocket enough while sitting but with any amount of speed get better. sorry i can't tell you what kind of harley they go to but if you take measurements of the distance of your back two holes you should be able to find it. so you know, furthest back of the two holes that attach isn't a hole but actually a slot. so i attach the front bolt, then pry it open a bit while sliding it down onto the back bolt. maybe just show a pic of the bags to some kind of bag expert? they can't be that uncommon. glad you guys likey. -brin
