Look at the Bonneville SE, they are a touch lower. I think they are completely different rides, the America is laid back and definitely heavier, feet forward and wide bars. The Bonneville is a very quick bike, gets up to speed faster, turns faster, more agile and nimble. If you want a standard style, you can't go wrong with one. You can add a tach to an America easily enough. Personally, I really like riding the Bonneville for short times, but I love my America and it is made for the long haul.
