Update: 6/29/11:
Bill ordered the Thumb screws and I installed them last night. I found his factory D-screws were only set 1.75 turns out for Sceptres and those jets. I'm amazed the bike didn't pop/snarl with that lean a setting. I set the thumb screws out 3.5 turns and the bike ran great on a test loop and on Bills 2 hr ride home. There was just a hint of back-burble on decel, which sounded nice, but I told Bill he could dial out with another quarter turn out or so.
Notes:
- the D-screws were an SOB to get out with the piece of a ballpoint pen, but we were victorious.
- the idle speed was set too high, Bill said 1700 rpm. I rest at 1k, which sounded right to me.
- I really miss my America after riding Bills....
