dealer told me that the sensitivity of this latest immobiliser cannot be adjusted
If I bought the New and Improved data tool alarm and the dealer said this to me, it would set off alarm bells
I bought my alarm 5 years ago and only had one issue 3 months ago when I couldn't de-activate it to start my bike.
Had to use my road svc membership to have it put on a flat bed towing truck and take it and me home.
I got onto the Internet and after googling found some info that said sometimes if there is abnormally high levels of electromagnetic activity such as in the path of radiated communications, it can interfere with the proper workings.
It just so happens I was parked opposite an indiscreet building where I know British Aerospace are occupied
Anyway, reset the alarm at home and all good.
With your problem though, it sounds like a faulty unit if it keeps activating for no reason. I wouldn't be paying too much attention to the mechanic though cos if all the "New" alarms were the same, datatool would possibly go broke.
Seriously, mine has been brilliant touch wood cos when I tour and stay at Pubs in Aus, its always comforting knowing the alarm would wake up half the establishment if any funny business happened.
Just my experience with mine and what it's worth to me in reassurance terms.
