I got some new Avon grips for my bike. Throttle side was easy to install. Clutch side not so much. They give you a double sided glue sheet that you stick to the bar and then remove the paper from the other side, wet it, and slide the grip on. Says to give it 2hrs. I did it around 6pm last night checked at noon today and still moving like there's nothing there. What else can I use to glue that puppy on? I've searched a bit and find references to hairspray, superglue, and gorilla glue but nothing definitive. Any suggestions? Already been out of commission 2 weeks waiting for throttle cables, I've got the itch bad. Thanks, Brian

My vote is for the Gorilla Glue. Used it when I put the Kurakyn ISO grips on last year. Good stuff, but you got to be quick when mounting them. The glue sets fast!

What grips did you go with? I'm still looking for a new set that will fit properly.
Thanks.

I went with these. They come with 2 different throttle cams so they fit multiple bikes. Used the cam labeled B for mine. Seem to fit good. As stated above the glue for the clutch side was garbage. http://avongrips.com/shop/products/MT-Air-Cushioned-Anodized-Grips.html

Which Gorilla glue did you use the regular or the super glue?
Some good options. My wife doesn't use hairspray so I have to go out to buy something either way.
I'm thinking of a wrapping the bar with electrical tape as well to make the fit more snug. It's a good fit now, but goes on and off really easily. Hoping making it more snug will help the cause.
Thanks, Brian

Try Marine Goop, just make sure you have it together, you only get one shot to get it right.

Brian, I think I used the superglue version of Gorilla Glue.

+1, I've used hairspray, grip glue, and super glue; when nothing else works,Gorilla Glue never fails. I wonder if anyone has ever used it on a gorilla.

Make sure the bar and grip are free of grease first(I use a little brake parts cleaner). Then I use hairspray. Aqua-net super hold is a personal favorite

Changed my bars reused the stock grips no need for anything. They stay put just fine.

Go to hardware store or better to a golf pro shop ask for double sided masking tape used for re-gripping golf clubs. Wrap bars with tape, douse tape with lighter fluid and slip on grips. Wipe off excessive fluid, park in sun, should be good to go in 4 hours or less.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Much appreciated. I went with the gorilla glue super glue. I put a layer of electrical tape on the bar first and then spread on some glue. Seems to be on there good. Decided to let it sit overnight and check on it tomorrow.
The bottle is small enough that I can stuff it in a tool roll when I get one.
Thanks again!
