Mine this time. My Barnett snapped on the way home today. Ruined a nice ride. Guess I expected one of these to last a bit longer.

oh damn I'll be going with an oem when the time comes.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

I've not been impressed with the quality of the Barnett cables. The sleeving part is fine, but the actual inside cable is weak.

Oh, oh... I just swapped out my stock cables (clutch + 2 throttle cables) for a pretty set of Barnett stainless. I guess I best carry the original stock cables with me.

I carry a spare clutch cable zip tied to the one that's fitted.

Just reinstalled the stock cable *wow!* the the actual stocker looks like it's about 2X the diameter of the Barnett. The factory offering looks a bit bland but built to last it seems.

Same with the Barnett throttle cables, very thin in comparison. I had mine restrung at a shop here after the throttle pull cable snapped. Hopefully the clutch cable is better, it is coated with some sort of polymer.

Marine mechanics are a great place to find cable makers- the plus is that marine cable are exposed to crap weather and therefore are made from better materials than automotive, or alternatively try truck repairers for a heavier gauge cable.
Work is something I'm forced to do between rides

Eeeek .. hate that stuff, I had one break on an old 550 Honda I had one night about 11 o'clock. I had a light and a pair of needle nose vicegrips (love those things) so I removed the cable from the housing and luckily it had broken at the top. I clamped the NN Vg's to the cable and rode it home using the handlebar as a pivot point. Cool old bike... had a lot of heart. And points! I like points...and wire spoke wheels... I'm rambling aren't I?
