At the end of June, I've got to travel to an awards ceremony. Since it is the end of June, I am hoping to ride. I have to wear a suit. Anyone have any ideas how pack a suit for transport on the bike?

'Pends on the fabric . If it's a nice summer blend wool , it will get wrinkled . But now if it's say , baby blue polyester , you can stuff it in a coffee can and it will look great at the BeeGees concert . Just fold it up and go , but make preparations to get it pressed . Suits . Mmmmm , I like suits . And ties . And shoes .

Eeh! Why pack it, Soren?! This guy just rides in his formal attire to functions like that...and to casinos..... (...just be sure to leave YOUR Beretta 418 at home that night...you could frighten the other honorees if you happen to whip that puppy out, ya know!!!)

Soren--just buy a suit in the town where the awards ceremony is being held. Don't cut any of the tags off, then, return it after wearing it ;-)

Mail it to the hotel's concierge via Priority Mail. Most hotels will do a light pressing for you at no charge and have it ready when you arrive.

Pack it and send it FedEx. I use to do that with tools on occasion.

Actually Soren, you didn't mention how far this ride to this function would be. Ya see, I'm thinkin' here if it's not all that far, I don't see any problem with you wearin' your suit while ridin' there. Back when I was workin' as the boarding gate supervisor at LAX, I'd wear my Class-A uniform while riding that 8 mile or so commute to the airport from my old house there in SoCal. I'd just wear my leather jacket over my suit coat and/or gently fold my coat up inside-out and carry it inside my leather jacket. OR, if you're worried about your suit maybe gettin' soiled, you could throw on your rain suit over your suit and keep it clean and dry that way. (...I'm assumin' you DO have a rain suit...considerin' where ya live and all!)

Find a laundromat in the town and have them steam it. Then just change in their restroom.

Soren, Check out the skyroll. I just traveled to NC with my Service Dress Blues in it. Men's Warehouse sells them for $99. I bought one and got one free and I am trying to figure out what to do with the other one. Check it out online to see if you like it, then email me and we can work out an arrangement to get you my extra one at a very very cheap price. http://www.skyroll.com/

This is a good option. Also rolling the suit is the best way to pack a suit for small package size. I've done it many times Clay

Back in the day (OK, it was WAY back), we'ed roll up our Coast Guard Dress Blues (old Navy Style wool uniform) snuggly and pack it in the Seabag. Take it out and put it on a hanger in the bathroom at your hotel when you take a shower. The steam will loosen any wrinkles and you're set to go.
I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I was going.

If not to far, like Dwight, I wear my suit under my leather pants and jacket the 13 miles to work. I do keep my suit coats at work though. When I have carried my coat, I also roll it and stick it in a saddle bag. The suits material does matter, I mostly own fairly inexpensive suits, so most don't wrinkle to much.

Good point, Chet.
I just wiki'ed "List of James Bond firearms", and according to that, author Ian Fleming in the first 4 of his books had him issued as his sidearm the Beretta, and then later on, the Walther PPK.

I sometimes(including tomorrow)need to wear a suit to formal work settings. I just stick it on under my waterproofs and go. If it gets crumpled I just pretend I'm Columbo and let folks assume I'm a little bit nuts (But then again, I'm a shrink by trade so maybe they expect that anyway?)
Al ps my round trip tomorrow is on motorway and will clock up about 200 miles
I took the Road Less Travelled.
Now where the ****** am I?

adding a tie to a t-shirt and jeans makes it a suit, right?

Buy a linen suit, they are supposed to be wrinkled and you'll look like an extra from The Great Gatsby or at least a Masterpiece Theater series.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
