Uncle Charlie's post in the chain replacement thread regarding having installed a belt and being happy with it got me wondering. How many people on here have installed one and are happy with them? We know the few that had bad experiences, but if they keep selling them there has got to be some happy customers out there. I installed one this spring and am happy so far, impressed at the smoothness and quiet. Anyone else got one that they are happy with?

Though my tale ended badly, it was awesome for the first couple years.

I have been waiting for Scootworks since January for availability of their belt drive for the America/Speedy. The last correspondence I had with them had an America on test and that was March 29. Haven't heard anything from them since and have decided to leave the chain on for this year (waited too long). There is a big difference in price between Scootworks and QPD ($300 bucks).

Jeff, post some pics of your setup if you get a chance.

I would pay the $300 difference for quality.

After 18 months I gave up on waiting for Scootworks in January. I sent them several emails and got the same response you did. QDP is the only option right now.

Scootworks Belt drive kits have been withdrawn from triumph-online due to premature failure of the alloy drive wheels. (Less than 3,000 mls)

Please contact Dave Hockaday at Scootworks directly If you are considering a purchasing a kit!!!!

We believe these kits should come with a "Wealth warning" !!!

I had the QPD and had years of good out of it on my 02.
put it on my 07 and put another 7500 miles on it before trading it in on my sprint.

"Squeaky Pete"
I remember riding behind you and wondering:
What the heck is that squeak? It was your QPD.
Mine never did that.

Jake,
I had a QPD on my 07 America and broke the belt at the BA Ralley that year. I had been in touch with Bob and he sent me a new belt while in Dahlonega that year. I ran the belt the rest of the time, until one day driving off the base in P-cola when the primary started ratcheting?! Anyway, ended up being the primary was dragging on the case. speaking with Bob again he recommended a .050 spacer to try and move the sprocket out far enough to stop dragging. To date I have the chain on since then, just never got around to working with the sprocket. I intend to re-install the belt when I get back to the states.

My 2 cents

Trumpy
