From the sounds of it here John, I doubt the following will be of any help, but....

...a couple years ago when I swapped out my pumpkins for the Lockhart-Phillips turn signals I now have on my BA, I found I at first had spliced the wiring backwards with each lead of the L/P turn signals hooked up negative to positive. I was thinking that the solid black wire from the new indicators should be spliced to the solid black wire on the Triumph's lead to the pumpkins, but it turned out I needed to go opposite of that to make them work.

And, with the way I had at first wired 'em up, I remember I blew one of the fuses, or maybe it was even a couple of 'em. It might've been the main power fuse and/or the one for the lights.
