Maybe, I don't understand the discussion here, but when I changed out my chain and sprockets a couple of years ago, I had to remove some links from the chain. Don't remember why. I do remember the difficulty we had adding the master clip link to the chain.
I have probably 8k miles on it now, but I expect to have to replace sooner or later. Even if I use a clip, having a press for the rivets and plates, will be an advantage.
Got the kit today. I think it was worth the money.
