When my warranty expired, I considered fitting nitrous to mine. Two things have delayed that .. 1. The engine re-builds are still under warranty for several months yet so I don't want to jinx anything so they can blame that for any further problems ... and ... 2. My mechanic mate who was going to install it says something along the lines of "set it to kick in at full throttle". Let me think about that for a second - full throttle THEN the nitrous kicks in?

Really!
For a cruiser, I'll just stay with the 140+/- spec's. (140+/-HP, 140+/-ft lb T, 140+/- mph, 140+/- c.i.)

No, we can't, but some can. Well, I GUESS we COULD, but lets see if any of us does. Then we'll talk.

I think the owner is a former member here. I can't remember his name, but he had a bunch of old choppers inherited from his dad (one was "The Blob"). He used to throw one hell of summer bash in the Baltimore area. He sold his America and bought the Rocket with plans to turbo it. I wonder who did the install? He hung around with the guy who had the purple America (w/super long Specialty Spares pipes), he worked at the DC Triumph dealer and Fred.

There was this bad boy... boasting 450HP. I saw it at Toad Rock last year... the owner/rider weighs in at 145 soaking wet and uses a harness to keep him and the bike together when he races it.
Live to love, love to live.

If memory serves, the ebay bike is a Boost Is Good kit: http://www.boostisgood.com/RocketIII/index.htmThe one Keith posted is custom, done at the dealership in Edmonton. I remember the front fender that was chopped on the backside to clear the intercooler. If memory serves...

Martin Motorsports in PA was doing a turbo RocketIII that got some media attention. It made around 220 hp, looked stone stock and was pretty quiet except for the turbo noise. Quote:

Bottom line here is...at $12.5K, this baby IS a real steal, and the only question which remains is if puttin' a turbo on it would degrade the reliability factor, and if so, to what extent.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Oh heck yeah. If I was still in the market (stupid uncertain job security) I'd look at it hard.

A quote from the ad is, "original tires with minimal wear," making it sound like the bike hasn't been run hard, so ya know it hasn't been run into the ground with that turbo on there.

Or, he took the tyres off when he got home, burned through a further 27 sets in 2,000 miles and has now refitted the 'originals with minimal wear'. Me, cynical?!!! :P

My dealer said even on a stock bike, the tires don't last long. Quote:
