Well all the gear is loaded, bikes gassed up and given the thrice over, all that's left is to ride west.
Looks like I'll be in the rain pretty much the entire 550 miles to my first overnight stop at Columbia Missouri, then hopefully a couple of clear days after that. I should reach Gresham on Saturday. I'll post again when I get there. Can't wait to get started even if it is gonna rain all day.

There is no better feeling then starting a trip such as yours, eh Carl? Epic indeed! All the making of a lifelong memory... a daring and carefree leave from day to day existence into an infinite world of possibilities. I think they call that, "adventure!" Go well, stay safe and enjoy, as I know you will!!

Live to love, love to live.

How many days are you going to be in town?
I live on the east side (the side Gresham is on).
I work this weekend, but will be available most evenings. I'd sure like to meet for a meal or drink or such. I bet we could probably drag Soren out too.

Well I finally made it, got here last night at about 7 pm, had a few brews and went to bed. 2689.3 miles since Tuesday. The bike ran like a champ, the weather was mostly great but I did about 200 miles in serious rain form home into Indiana then the last 540 miles form Jerome Idaho into Portland in mild rain, there was snow mix at the peak along 84 west. The wind in the west is crazy compared to home, a 20 mile an hour head wind with 40 mph gusts across Wyoming dropped my milage into the low 30's. Overall a great uneventful ride.
This is one hell of a chunk of real estate we call America, of all the scenery along the way the most spectacular so far is along I 84 in Utah, with what I've seen of Oregon running a very close second.
I'll post some pics later in the week.

Give oregon a couple more days (and if the sun comes out), you'll rank it #1, especially if you can get over to the coast.

Went quad riding at Sand Lake on the coast today, it is spectacular for sure. Passed through Beaverton along the way. We had a blast. I'm looking to cross the river and ride 14 in Washington for photo ops in the next few days. And Brent I sent you an IM gimme a call.

Well 25 states and over 9000 miles later I'm back home, It was a great trip, I dodged any serious weather, had no mechanical, directional or personal issues and actually spent less than I'd planned. The only real issue along the way was the theft of my blackberry and all my buddies electronics (his house was robbed while we were out touring the local strip clubs).
I'm ready to hit the road again, it seemed odd to get up this morning with no destination in mind, I may hafta ride to Somerset or Lexington KY to have lunch at Gold Star, not a long ride but it should be enough to stop the itch and I get Cheese Coney's out of the deal, lol.
I'll sort through my pics ( there are over 1800 of em) and get some of em posted in the next couple days.
