Way I see it Dwight is it was a gutsy move to give the go ahead, if that had gone wrong and there was colateral damage or maybe he really wasn't there..etc...etc... Then it would have been very bad for the US politically. Especially a solely US operation with no notification to the sovereign country who's soil you are running this operation on.
