Ya know, not too long ago we got a registration request from Islamabad, Pakistan. I tried to email him to verify he wasn't a spammer and got no response. But then I did get a spam message at the BA.com account from Pakistan. Coincidence? I think not. Registration denied. Of course, it couldn't have been OBL because his mansion didn't have internet access or phone lines.

Way I see it Dwight is it was a gutsy move to give the go ahead, if that had gone wrong and there was colateral damage or maybe he really wasn't there..etc...etc... Then it would have been very bad for the US politically. Especially a solely US operation with no notification to the sovereign country who's soil you are running this operation on.

Actually I believe we did notify and have the cooperation of Pakistan.
Of course, they were supporting him and we were supporting them, so do the math.

In February I saw a documentary called "Feathered Cocaine," about the illegal trade and smuggling of falcons (birds not Fords) in the middle east. The featured falconer was convinced OBL was being held in Iran and went falcon hunting frequently. Even said he had the transponder frequencies of the transponders on his falcons' callers.
I guess that was either wrong or outdated info. Or just plain old BS.

I saw 3 different news reports that said we didn't notify Pakistan , but the Pakistan people are saying he was killed due to cooperation. So pick your source I guess.

I guess it's probably better that Pakistan thought they helped us than the reverse. I think Pakistan is in emergency image damage control mode given where he was found and how he was living. That said, no one is surprised he was found where he was.

We did notify the Pakistanis, as we were leaving. We had to, seems they scrambled their jet fighters when we blew our damaged helo up. We should have displayed OBL's dead body. Nothing drives hero myth worship in followers more than not seeing the dead body. I salute Pres. Obama, he has finally earned his Nobel Peace Prize.
