Let me first say the only time I have ever had one of my bikes on a trailer was to pickup or drop off at the dealer for service. I'm headed to Myrtle Beach Bike week in May.
Surgery mid April will rule out riding the bike down, and my old utility trailer is not up to the 1600 mile round trip
Am looking for an open type MC trailer. Something with wheels larger than 12". Any ideas.
Thanks Mark

They are all over eBay from various dealers. Check out the auctions and see if any are in your neck of the woods. Here's some links from when I was considering this route. I have since decided to mount a channel in the bed of my pickup and forget the trailer.

Problem is it's a Dakota quad cab so the bed is only 5 1/2'. I am hoping the channel extended to the end of the gate will be enough.

I am going to cut a piece of the channel and weld it at 90 degrees to the other piece and fitted against the front wall of the bed. Another thing I saw this weekend.... One of wojo's buddies from Canada welded a stand that goes under the bike and then bolts into his frame. So now the rear end ratchets down against that instead of the shocks. Makes the back REALLY stable. I am going to see what I can figure out.

Good idea! Seems like you could drill a couple hols in the sides of the channel so you could bolt in stuff like that as needed.

Hey Phil, Have you checked out those wheel chock stands? Condor makes them and BikeGrab makes one. I bought the Bike Grab from a place in NC ($190. including shipping). The BikeGrab is actually made in England. The stand works pretty good. It can be used alone like in a garage or mounted to a trailer or truck bed. I'll be putting pictures on later.

You're asking the wrong folks. The guys on the Harley forum should have a lot more insight on this issue

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I have a friend who is a dealer for the Kenden Stand-up Trailors. They come with a 13" Wheel. This is a great trailor and I plan to get one someday. Check them out at http://www.seeitshine.com/Kendon.htm

Thanks All
I just may sell the car and look for a truck. Would only go with an ex cab, so guess some type of lomger rail would be needed. I do like the look of the Kendon trailer. the cost of a good trailer makes getting a new truck look better than ever

Hi Mark,
I am writing in regard to your trailer query. I am blessed with two MC trailers. One is an open trailer I had at one of the BA.com meets we had at Chy's and the other is an enclosed I have purchased for long distance traveling. I'm not sure where exactly you live but, I live in Ponce de Leon, Fl. and my trailer is setting there. I bought it used for $1200 and would take a $1000 for it. If I remember correctly it had a tailight that needed some attention. The light is there but, the wiring was shorted in the tube. I don't think it will take much to fix. The trailer is built locally in Dothan, AL. and is a neet piece, drop deck so even the other half could load by herself. It'll pull 85 easily, I know. Drop me a line at penrodm@vandegrift.navy.mil and I can converse a little more with you. it might be worth your drive. BTW, I pulled it with my Dakota when I first got it. I believe it has 14" tires. Ask the guys on the sight, Phil Chy, etc. about the trailer. They have seen it. Happy trailer hunting.

Trumpy
