His camera is so wide angle it's almost a fish eye. That distorts the distances making things look much further away than they really are. That makes it hard to judge his mistakes. At first it looked to me like he just ditched the bike from about 100 yards away when he could have braked and/or avoided to the left. I think he locked up his front and maybe the surface was slippery/icy.
Regardless, he wasn't watching far enough ahead the truck was obviously turning before the rider even changed lanes.
I wonder if he was trying to emulate that Russian daredevil video we saw last year - the one where he was overtaking into the oncoming lanes. At least that guy could ride and had razor sharp reflexes.
