Aka... heading for the high country! Yeah, I've been out a bit... the first ride was last week when my bike broke down (doesn't count). But yesterday the sun broke out and I headed for the high country. 325 km of shear joy with spectacular scenery, clean mountain air and freshly powdered snowscapes. I thought I'd post a bit of a pictorial of my supernatural day! While passing through the bohemian capitol of the world (Nelson, BC, Canada) I captured this interesting character. This shot kinda puts it into perspective. Then, as I pushed further North I stopped by the shores of Kootenay Lake to enjoy the lunch I'd brought with me. Pressing further on I stopped here, now far up in altitude where the landscape was still frozen. And (that's a lake behind there)... And (O. M. G!!!)... And finally... after descending closer to the valley floor I stopped at a particularly good vantage point and captured this. And now I'm just gracing you with a preview of this year's version of the Mountain Lady of the North! Oh, and Frank? Perhaps you now get a sense of why I live where I live! Winter is Winter, but Spring is blissfully Spring!!!!!
Live to love, love to live.

I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I was going.

I think we've seen those first two pictures before. I'm glad you're out riding again and you've got an appropriate number of lights on your bike again.

Nope... the guy switches it up all the time. These pictures depict the gargoyle with an Easter basket.

The first one is the same angle as before, but I never got one from up front and below before.
(Dang, I should have left them out... they're distracting from the whole of the thread.)

Yes Keith I do understand why you live where you live. Very beautiful country you live in. If I could find somewhere with your scenery and a tropical climate I would move there tomorrow. You never know, we are still thinking of a holiday in Canada next year. I will keep you posted.

Beautiful scenery! Also some interesting hints of what you've been up to during the dark months... Nice!

Pretty grown up basket with the empty beer can and all...and a lot nicer than what happened over a Doug's place after the Easter beer got out of hand:

I really dig that Gargoyle. I'm glad you got a shot of him from the front. I've been wanting to see that. All beautiful country and pictures as usual. Your bike is looking freaking sweet, man. Looking forward to a thread so we can hear about all your new stuff you've done.

Ain't that the coolest thing? The entire house is pretty darn interesting. The owner built a ship-like deck around the house complete with an authentic looking bow.

I'm holding off just to frustrate John who's been asking me for pictures for the 'Featured' column on the homepage! Nah... I'm just waiting for my new pipes, then I'll show 'er off for you and anyone else who's interested.

I remember seeing the back a couple of times, I didn't realize we could get around to the front. I want to see it too.
The bike is looking great.

I could answer that... but then you'd just make fun of it because this is what's in tonight's weather forcast.
With the caption beneath, "Scattered flurries"
But then again, I guess THAT'S why the snow clad high country looks so pretty in those pictures I posted.

Go ahead Keith just say it. They only thing you need now is more riding weather.

Spring is beautiful! Glad you enjoyed your ride. We're getting more snow in the Cascades this weekend too.

I wish you all could be enjoying high 60s in the mornings and low 80s in the peak of the day.
