has anyone fabricated a custom bar to work on the TA. OEM is way to expensive and they're difficult to come by used.
also, OEM windshields are also expensive. any ideas on after market windshields that may fit my TA?
thanks, frank

Can't you just look at the picture and take some construction paper, a felt sharpie and a pair of scissors and make a template? I know I can, copycatism at its zenith

Cutting out a piece of paper and and taking it to a shop, telling them them I want one of these made up with cosmetic stainless (it come with sticky paper on both sides to keep it purty) is not fabrication, but if you had them make up , say 10 of them, the unit price would go down and you could recoup your investment? Sounds plausible to me. I'm working on something else, the first day of Kokanee season, tomorrow A.M.

I'll dig out the bracket and start working on this. Once I have a good diagram I'll see what a small production run (based on the number of interested people on this thread) will cost. At that point I'll see what material and finish(es) people are interested in. Mine is steel and fairly thin. Obviously aluminum would be thicker. Might have one of each cut out to see what they look like.
At this point I don't plan on providing anything other than the bracket. This will be intended as a straight replacement for the Triumph factory lightbar, which is what I did with it when I first made one--I already had the factory kit I just didn't like the spacing. Everyone else can source their own lights and wiring. If you need help with that I can publish what size bolts I used and I would strongly suggest spending the $25-30 on the factory Triumph driving light wiring harness (I think the part number is in the Tech Vault, but it's definitely around here somewhere). And then you can buy really cheap Autozone lights or regular "cruiser style" lights or nice expensive PIAA lights. Whatever you want.
Sound like a plan? When I actually have some I'll post here and in the Vendor forum.

I found an old tracing I did a year or two ago. It ain't pretty but it has the basic measurements. I'll try to draft something a little cleaner this week. Bar flat, straight on (with my popcorn ceiling reflected ):

If I recall correctly, it cost me $35 to chrome it at the local plater, and that's after I spent a bunch of time polishing it first. I'm open to sending them out raw or powder-coated. I'm not open to polishing them up by hand again.

PDF file has been sent to the waterjet company for an estimate. I asked for estimates on aluminum and steel at a few different thicknesses.
I'll have one cut out and I'll test fit it (with pictures, naturally) before I post the plans and get about a dozen cut out.

I assumed your place was on the west cost. Mine is in Great Falls (well right next to it in Black Eagle). About an hour and a half away. And they ship. This is my buddy's award winning '56 Olds custom at a Goodguy's show in Spokane in '09. This place scanned his wood mockup for the grill insert, digitized it, "corrected" the curve, and cut a couple dozen out of steel and delivered for (I think) under $200, including materials. My buddy then welded them all to a frame work to mount behind the bumper and had them chromed by a big show-quality chromer in LA. We'll have to talk about finishes when I get the estimate back. I can take them to the same chromer locally that did my original bracket or have them powder-coated locally (the guy that kind of effed up my rear fender does "hard parts" like rims and bumpers much better), and without having to do any stripping or prep other than cleaning, it should be pretty cheap. I'm totally willing to ship them out raw, though so you can do whatever you want. We'll see how the costs shake out.
