Just wondering if any of our readers have fitted the Cruiser style Oxford Hot Grips to their America or Speedmaster lately? Are they a straight fit onto the bars & throttle assembly and are there any issues I should be aware of when fitting them? Winter is quickly approaching here in the land of Oz and there ain't nothing nicer than getting to work on a cold morning with my pinkies all nice and warm and ready for a day of keyboard bashing.

Hi,
Fitted them in January, dead straight forward, need to cut ends off if wanting original end weights rather than the caps provided but no problem. They work well and I expected to be using them until June at least but we have suddenly gone into the hottest May on record.

Brad, it occassionally drops to around 0 deg C where I live on winter mornings. I've had the Oxford Hot Grips on a previous dual purpose bike and they pulled me out of early stages of hypothermia a couple of times on day long cold wet rides into forests. My reasons for fitting the grips is more of a comfort thing and you'd be surprised once you have them, how often you give them a bit of a run. They can turn an unpleasant ride into a more bearable ride at times especially when your bike is your daily rider.

So the temp drops to 0 deg on winter mornings!! Sounds like a good old English summer. Would gladly swap your weather for the Ashes!!

Oxford grips - super bit of kit wouldn't be without them and easy to fit. Think Oxford recommend they are wired direct to battery, big danger here of leaving them on and coming back to a flat battery.

I fitted my new Oxford Hot Grips today. I swear the kit was made for my America. A perfect fit with wires. I mounted the chrome control panel on the chrome dash where the Speedmaster tacho normally sits. Not the prettiest location but functional enough for me and I didn't want to clutter up the clean look of my handlebar arrangement. Pics to follow.
