I've ordered a Corbin seat that'll take another few weeks to get here and I was just wondering how many folks were pleased or displeased with theirs.

I have the solo with pillion. Excellent fitment and workmanship. Very firm and supportive. Great for long rides. Keep it well treated, especially during the initial break-in. I treated the leather weekly with Corbin's leather conditioner for about 3,000 km (2,000 miles). I ride a fair amount and now treat every 2 or 3 weeks. Take care when installing. You might want to put conditioner on the leather wrap that's on the front mounting plate to help install.
The seat fits tight against the tank. I used a piece of '3m clearbra' on my tank to prevent marring the finish of the tank.

love mine, rider+ backrest. Once I had it I noticed that i was making steering inputs with my arms and shoulders rather than having to twist my whole upper body... another backache averted.

Love my Corbin seat and backrest. It's a saddle really... firm, supportive, comfort fit. Very well made... a quality product.

Didn't like mine, pushed me too far forward, was too hard on the tailbone. Bought mine used though, may have had a different experience had I bought new. Instead I sent my seat off to greatdaytoride.com and had spencers seat mod done. Best $75 I ever spent.

Have not cared much for it in the 5 yrs I have used it. As noted, it has been too hard on the tail bone. I financed mine through the dealer , bad move, and when I called Corbin, they said the guarntee was with the dealer not me. However! since you have bought it, if its too hard, send it back and tell them you want the softer compound with a little more cush, and they will fix it. Or better yet, call them now b4 they send it. They told me it took some break in, I told them (at the time) it had 7000 + miles on it and it still was not "broke in". It now has 26,000 mi on it. It is a bit broke in. I will be having gell and comfort foam instaled at the end of this season! Tired of a sore tail bone.

I've had the solo w/backrest for 5 years. About 42,000 miles on it. I'm slim and don't have any trouble with my tailbone. It was money well spent.
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

Thanks for the replys folks. I'm big [as in fat] so we'll see how it works.I had a Mustang seat on a honda cruiser I used to have.I thought it was great. It seemed hard at first.I hope the Corbin's the same deal.

It depends on the Honda cruiser, I guess. I bought the Corbin seat for a little 250 CC Rebel and it was a GREAT improvement. On my VLX I preferred my stock seat.

Had mine recovered by a local guy, West Charleston Auto Upholstery.
I told him a few issues that I had with the seating from the git.
He took out some foam, and added some foam, recovered and matched the backrest to the seat, and this seat rocks!
No longer sitting on my tail, but on my gluts and upper hamstrings where it should be.
He told me that the leather would have shrunk up in this climate regardless of how religiously I would have used conditioner. Seems Corbin may tend to shortcut on the amount used........

^ Somebody was talking about Spencer's seat mod in another thread. That might be the move I'll have to make if the America solo seat doesn't do it for me. Nevada's just a bit too far for me to go for a seat mod, I think.

It was a VLX.The stock seat nearly crippled me.The mustang was great.Different for each of us I suppose. The newer ones changed the seat mounts I think.
