My original one dragged and the tab to put it down eventually broke off. I got the replacement off ebay from an '04 Speedmaster I think. The casting was different and the springs were stronger. Haven't had a problem since then (dragging the footboards, on the other hand...
). I stashed another kickstand away just in case.
