Was just about to set off for the Border last Friday and had put the bike on it's stand while I locked the garage, or so I thought. Heard the usual clonk the stand makes when it locks out. Unfortunately it's a very similar clonk when the stand snaps back up... Can you see where this is going?
Result, one snapped clutch lever...

As you can see it didn't snap where it's designed to and instead snapped right at the pivot leaving me with precisely ****** all to use as a lever. To top it off it knocked itself into gear when it fell meaning I had to kick hell out of it to get it into neutral.
As I was on a really tight schedule I ran about like I was on fire trying to come up with a solution. Fortunately I'm at my most innovative when under pressure and came up with this

I managed to drill an M6 hole about 3/4 of an inch into the remaining stub, tap it and screw in a u-bolt I bent into a rough lever shape.
It's butt ugly, but it works until I get a new lever through the post.
On the subject of new levers, Triumph want £26 for a new adjustable one but Triumph Online only want £13.99?! Guess which one I went for? The way I look at it is that the stock item was made from total garbage so this one can only be the same or better (hopefully).
Also picked up a set of rear pads for less than I would have paid for one single Triumph lever with postage. The pads are Goldfren HH sintered pads, I'll let you know how they cope.

Hey! Why waste your money on another adjustable lever, Ron! You've got one right there, dude!

Uh huh! All ya gotta do is spin that puppy around 180 degrees and...VOILA..."adjustable"!!!

(...actually, a pretty good short-term solution there, I'd say!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Neat fix, you just need to file a 'break-off 'V' in it and job done.

What a great fix. I am impressed. Have you invented anything else?

Yep I also came up with brackets for relocating turn signals from the bars to off the sides of the bottom yoke/tree/whatever. There's a rudimentary diagram and stuff in the Tech Vault bit. I have some other ideas and will post em when/if they work.

LOL! I used an adjustible lock-wrench for about a month on my old 350 Honda when money was more important for beer than a clutch lever.

How much would you charge to make a set of those ? The threaded end would be cool for a knob , dice , skull , etc .

I dunno man, that's some serious engineering there.
