Has any one tried a set of stock risers from a 1600 bird on an America with stock bars? They look like they should give a little less than an inch of rise and an inch or so of pull back. Found a set on e bay and thought I'd ask before I bid on them, may be a cheap alternative to rivco's,if they work out.

Guess no ones tried them so I'll be the guinea pig, they measure 1/2 inch rise over stock with 1 inch of pullback and 10 mm mounting bolts and are polished aluminum. $50 on Ebay for a set of takeoffs from a dealer in Tx.
If I don't stop buying bike goodies I'm gonna hafta cancel my trip to Oregon. lol
I'd like a set of rivcos but at the moment thats more coin than I wanna drop and I really don't want chrome risers.
I considered the $29.95 Chinese made chromed billet risers that are all over E bay, but they all have 1/2 13 mounting bolts, and I really don't want to drill my upper clamp. Also there is a disclaimer in the posting about possible customs fees and taxes but they can't tell me if I'd have extra fees or if I do how much they would amount to, kinda makes me leery of em.
Anyway,I'll let you know how they work out in a few days.

They were posted at $70 but I got em on a best offer. I felt like it was a fair price, even though they are take offs so it's free money for the dealer basically.

Got my T-bird risers today. These risers seem perfect for me. Near as I can measure it I gained 3/4 rise and 1 1/8 pull back. They clear the dash by about a 1/4 inch at full lock. The polished finish makes me wanna polish my upper and lower clamps and shrouds. I haven't ridden it yet, but it sits better strapped to a jack.
The only draw back to these risers I can see is the T-bird bolts and the America bolts are way to long, I didn't measure the ones I used but I hafta take em back out to lock tight em I'll measure em then and let ya know.

I'm curious, is there any problem viewing the speedo or the tripometer reading from your riding position?

Can't tell the rise or pull back from the pix but they look very much like the HD risers I used on my bike minus the 1 piece top clamp.

No issues at all Mike. In fact there's room for a bar mount clock between the risers without obscuring the view.
I rolled the top about a inch back toward me, this lets it clear the windshield and keeps the speedo markings from fading out under street lights, but it looks bad without the windshield. Even in the stock position viewing the speedo wouldn't be an issue.

They are off a 2010 Thunderbird, the mounting bolts are 10mm so there's no need to drill the upper clamp or track down stepped bolts. Harley risers use 1/2 inch bolts, that's 12.7 mm for you metric guys. As far as them being better I can't say. They fit me well, but they may not fit you.
Don't guess at what you need. I felt the positioning out while riding, then strapped the bike to a jack, so I could sit naturally, and mimicked the position while my son measured it up. These were as close as I could get to what I wanted.
Speaking of my son he wants one of these web page blue collar bobbers
for his first street bike. Off topic I know but it occurred to me.

I finally remembered that I was supposed to post the bolt length, it's 55mm.
