Hi, Can anyone give me some advice regarding pullback risers.
I have a 2009 america and find the handlebars just a little bit to far forward for me and want to find out if i can replace them with some risers that are the same height as the originals but pull back about 2-3 inches if possible. This is because i am a shortAr-e and cant reach to far.Any advice would be greatly appreciated,Not looking to spend megabucks cause im a tight ar-e.
Many thanks for any advice

P.S I forgot to ask if it is also possible to modify a low rise cissy bar to act as a riders backrest or if this a total non starter,Any advice/suggestions would be more than welcome.
Having taken some measurements i think it could be possible, so if any of you have done this mod i would appreciate any help/Photos.Thanks & Regards and safe riding

Plenty of pullback risers out there. Try Fasteddysports.com

Never seen anyone modify a stock sissybar for driver use, but there's the biker buddy bag that fits on the backseat between you and the sissybar, and then there's the Protec driver's backrest, also available from Fast Eddy.

Didn't our beloved previous administrator have a step by step backrest setup in the tech vault ?

I too have an 09 America and I put these risers on: Lightening Euro Style Risers from Fast Eddy. We did have to drill larger holes in the triple tree for the bolts, but other than that it was a breeze. It's made a real difference for me. Also on Fast Eddy's site is a Pro-Tac Backrest America. It goes on so very easy and is a perfect fit. Great price too. I like it because you can be short, like me, or tall and it'll fit you. Just cut the metal tubes shorter and it works great.
Good luck on your mods.

If you get a set of stepped riser bolts from someplace like Scootworks you don't have to drill the top yoke.

There was a tutorial on fabbing up a bracket that used just the factory sissybar pad and attached it to the pillion seat pan.

Wished I would've known that... Oh well, it was done last year and is all good.

Maybe Stacka will chime in here. He had a thread about the adjustable risers he's using. Adjustable? ... now that's a great idea!! Here's a link to his thread, although it seems some pictures are now missing.

Hmmm... unfortunately most of the image links appear to be broken. I'll see what I can dig up later.
