Nooooo, as I recall when we visited it about 15 years ago, it's one of, if not THE largest wooden structure in the world. There were actually two of them built at the old Tillamook Naval Air station there, but one burned down(BIG BIG fire, as you can imagine) just a couple years before we visited the remaining structure.
They were used to house those enormous rigid American airships we used for scouting enemy subs during WWII.
(...and as you might know, most of those ended up crashing during turbulent weather...nooooo, the airships NOT the subs!!!)
