Thanks for the comments, and have to say this is a superb site for info on these bikes.
Would never buy without trying out, and have e/mailed local dealer to try and set one up.
Think i should be happy with performance as until i got the GPZ900 i had only ever ridden twins, xs400, xs650 and 750 bonneville.
