Not to be a party pooper, but...
Used to be Canada wouldn't allow crossing to some folks with any old misdemeanors or felonies in their past. Reckless driving, excessive speed as a misdemeanor (like 25+ over), possession of marijuana, & DWIs / DUIs can and may fall into one of those categories. I've been told ancient misdemeanors, like the ones of teenage yore, can pop up as well.
I've heard a variety of explanations on the subject, but don't really know how that works. I've also heard about contacting Canadian officials to get pre-clearance, but don't know how that works either.

More partial info - The story goes that all speeding convictions in VA in recent years count as misdemeanors.
I'm not talking about "The sky is falling" and obviously this info doesn't pertain to everyone. I'd just hate to see anyone ride all day and get turned away is all.
