How much would it cost to take a day off work? Unfortunately it may just be cheaper to pay the ticket.
If you do want to fight it you may actually beat it. You tell the court that you checked your speedometer and it said 32 in a 30. The cop pulls you over and says you were doing 41 and then writes 31 on the ticket. Could be a simple mistake by the cop but it also makes his testimony somewhat suspect and possibly enough for "reasonable doubt".
That being said, I got a ticket 15 years ago for $38 and the cop told me to my face that it would cost me more to take time off work to fight it. A simple money grab but what can you do.
